Telecommunications Regulatory Law - Cairo Economic Court

The Cairo Economic Court decided to hold the case of the accused Hossam Eddin Sayed for the verdict on 28 August. The defendant was identified as a police officer and found in possession of a radio transmitter without permission from the NTRA.
The Imbaba investigation was able to arrest the defendant and was found in possession of the unauthorized radio possession or circulation. Investigations by the Public Prosecution revealed that the accused used the radio to intimidate the citizens as a police officer.

The Public Prosecution ordered the formation of a technical committee to examine the wireless device by the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority. It was found that the wireless device in possession of the accused must obtain the approval of the device prior to possession or use. This is contrary to the Telecommunications Regulatory Law and was referred to the Cairo Economic Court.
