Resurrection of Jesus

The Second Christian Century

The 20th Century is also known as the century of resurrection. It was a time when many religious movements are more popular in contemporary times. As people became more aware of their religion, several new religions emerged. For example, Christianity was an important movement for its believers. It has been around since 1400 AD and it took place at some point after Christ died and was resurrected on 21st January 17th. After His death and resurrection, Christ sent messages to His disciples to spread the gospel that would eventually change how they viewed God. This story describes what happened before his crucifixion and resurrection. As a testament to His power over humanity, he used miracles like the miracle that happened on Palm Sunday as evidence of his resurrection.

The second half of the 20th century brought forth two significant developments; firstly, the growth of scientific knowledge that aided in promoting understanding of the world with the help of science. Secondly, the emergence of social movements which had numerous beliefs to them. One major one is the feminist movement which had been developed out of feminist movements across Europe in the late 1960s. In addition, political movements like racial equality such as the Civil Rights Movement and anti-apartheid movements came up. Even though some movements were controversial, others were accepted in some societies such as those in the United States. Another prominent case was the Black Lives Matter movement whose main goals were to address inequalities in race and society. Their movement received support from various organizations like Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, NAACP Legal Defense Fund, National Lawyers Guild, NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and Anti-Violence Campaign Network.

The 21st century was a period where the global political landscape changed greatly and the world was confronted by ecological issues that needed attention. Many countries were faced with climate change and other environmental problems that needed action. As a result, a number of international treaties came up. Some of the most notable ones include the Paris Agreement, UNFCCC, NABL, and Rio+20 which addressed global warming. These were mainly focused on addressing human-induced industrial pollution, deforestation, and the development of renewable energy sources. The greatest challenge was still being faced by Africa and this was especially so because it is heavily dependent on agriculture for food production. According to reports by CNN and Bloomberg, an estimated 1 billion tons of agricultural land have been lost, leading to famine among millions of Africans who depend on agriculture for livelihood. Also, another huge disaster was caused by Hurricane Ida. According to World Economic Outlook (WEO), the economy of North America, Europe, Asia, and Japan lost $15.7 trillion with a $1 trillion loss in the last year of 2020 alone. This crisis led to changes in lifestyle. People were forced to spend more and change their activities to reduce economic losses. Additionally, in the wake of these catastrophes, there were protests against corruption and racism in certain parts of the world. Most importantly, however, the US president, Donald Trump promised a peaceful transition of power. With all these events taking place in 2021, the question of whether or not Jesus is alive and well comes to our minds.

If we look into the New Testament we see Jesus is considered to be the son of God. At first sight, Jesus’ baptism could be described as a miraculous miracle of the Holy Spirit. However, even though He is mentioned as the son of God we can’t say whether or not He is really alive because He never left His disciples. Furthermore, He didn’t get sent and He did not die for us for any reason. Therefore, He isn’t dead and no one knows why He died. What we are told about Him is through the Gospel of John where He said “I am the Messiah, the Lord, and savior of the world!” Also, Jesus isn’t mentioned in the gospels of St Paul which means He hasn’t been in writing to share the gospel with Christians. We don’t know what His birth was but since Luke’s Gospel has already recorded Him I doubt He ever existed. Maybe it is just a coincidence.

Although Jesus is considered to be the Son of God and the Word of God, He is not Jesus Christ. There are a few things to note about him. First, He is believed to have been conceived in the virgin Mary and raised by Joseph. They both were the parents of the infant Jesus who would become the leader and savior of the world. This being born on the night of the day that Jesus would be crucified was a historical event that happened not by mistake. As soon as Jesus was brought to earth, He began spreading the gospel and establishing a kingdom for the future. Jesus was then crucified and betrayed and He was then arrested on the cross. Then He returned to heaven and He rose again with the church and people around Him. Jesus has also said He will come from heaven to redeem us from all our sins (Matthew 4:23). This shows that Jesus is part of the Trinity and He is all God (1 John 1:2). Other than that, Jesus, God the Messiah, the true God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, has been the center of the Christian faith since the beginning of His ministry. He taught thousands of God's followers a message of salvation and His purpose is to return the believers to fellowship with Christ. Even today, Christians are being raised to live a righteous life, which is according to the teachings of Ephesians 2:6. He has a mission to go back to the prophet Paul to the Jews who refused Him, Romans 15. And then He went on to preach God to nations, peoples, tongues, and cultures. Lastly, the Old Testament tells us that Jesus died and then rose again with the church. But as we see in the Gospel of Matthew, they also tell us Jesus was once a common criminal in Jerusalem until he died for our sake. In these cases, He was able to save sinners despite their sins and be crucified to save His people.
